2016 – MCLAREN P1 XP1 LM

The Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​2016 is showing a lot of news. Already we knew that there would be a McLaren P1 GTR inspired by James Hunt and another version of the supersport homologated to run on the open roads made with the help of the Launcher. Now there are more details and we can say that the McLaren P1 LM will be produced, but in a very limited edition of five units. What is being shown in Goodwood is a prototype named ‘P1 XP1 LM’.Many will sound familiar with the iconic name used for this version. It takes as reference the McLaren F1 LM that won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1995 and that also was prepared with the help of the Motzport Motorsport. Five copies were produced, and now the story is repeated in this case. And as expected, the P1 LM will be practically a P1 GTR street.It will have the same hybrid system consisting of a 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo petrol engine combined with an electric motor. In total, no less than 1,000 horsepower. Weight reduction will be one of the strengths of the model, which can be 60 kg lighter than the P1 GTR. For this it uses some solutions like carbon fiber and an exhaust system of Inconel, an alloy of super light material.In terms of aerodynamics also improved compared to P1 GTR. It will offer 40% more downforce thanks to new features like the huge rear aerofoil. In the interior the carbon fiber is the protagonist and appears a steering wheel derived from that equipped the McLaren MP4 / 23 of Lewis Hamilton in the 2008 season of Formula 1.As in F1 LM, four of the five McLaren P1 LMs will be made in orange and one in gray as the model of the images. Along with their delivery will be included a set of tools, a customized cover and a scale model of the vehicle in the 1: 8 scale. Its exclusivity is expected to raise its price to £ 3.2 million, somewhere around £ 15 million.

2015 – McLAREN 650S COUP

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) is celebrating the brand’s victory in the 1995 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, when five McLaren F1 GTRs crossed the finish line in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th places. To mark the 20th anniversary of this achievement, McLaren has unveiled the first details of a special 650S Le Mans edition that will be limited to 50 units.  The 650S Le Mans was created by MSO with consulting from Peter Stevens, designer of the iconic McLaren F1, which informs that this special edition adds a modern twist by combining the iconic McLaren F1 lines with the latest state-of-the-art technologies.The special edition will maintain the same 650S engine, with 650 hp of power and 678 Nm of torque. Thanks to it the 650S Le Mans can reach 100 km / h in three seconds and a top speed of 333 km / h. The look of the limited edition model includes several carbon fiber elements, the front splitter and the rear bumper. The coupes also receive the side blades and the MSO rear diffuser. The exclusive design of the limited edition Le Mans stands out with the help of the Sarthe Gray metallic exterior color and the orange accents with the “Le Mans” logo on the wheels and at the end of the door blades.The interior was heavily lined with black leather and alcantara, with two sports seats with central orange alcantara. The Le Mans logo was placed on the headrest of each seat and on the exclusive rugs. Deliveries of the 650S Le Mans special edition start at the beginning of this year.
